Fort McMurray International Airport

  • Potential multi-dog visit (Dogs Only)
  • Teams will be at the airport in the arrivals area
  • To gain access to the Departures side of the terminal refer to the venue manual for information on the RAIC process

Alberta Health Services (AHS)

  • For all AHS venues teams are required to do additional AHS paperwork. Once a team has completed the PAWS course they will receive instruction on how to become an AHS volunteer and will work directly with AHS to complete paperwork requirements.

AHS – NLRHC – Psychiatric Unit/Medicine (3rd Floor)

  • 1 PAWS teams per visit. (Dogs Only)
  • Teams will be at the Hospital on the 3rd floor in a small room for a group visit
  • Visits will have a staff member in attendance
  • Teams may then proceed to visit on the medicine unit

AHS – NLRHC – Peds/Surgery (2nd Floor)

  • Teams can visit the entire 2nd floor starting in the Pediatric Unit
  • Refer to the AHS manual for further details

AHS – Recovery Centre

  • Potential multi-dog visit
  • This is a group visit with typically 8-12 adults in a recovery setting
  • Visits will have a staff member in attendance

Rotary House

  • One PAWS teams per visit
  • This is a group visit with 2-6 adults living in a senior housing facility
  • Visits are usually 1 hour length and are on a monthly schedule

Golden Years Society

  • Potential multi-dog visit
  • This is a group visit with member of the Golden Years Society. This is the seniors activity Centre in Fort McMurray.  A typical visit has 10-12 participants
  • Visits are usually 1hour in length and are on a monthly schedule
  • Special Visits are arranged during Mental Health Week and Seniors Month

Keyano College

  • Potential multi-dog visit
  • This is a group visit with many people of a variety of ages attending (2-30 people)
  • Visits will be with the team member and clients (no staff member present)
  • Special Visits are arranged during Mental Health Week and Exam Week as determined by the Students Association and Venue Coordinator

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools

  • Potential multi-dog visit
  • Arranged generally during exam week (High Schools)
  • Elementary schools will have a PAWS venue lead (paws team member arranging visits with the school directly)

Fort McMurray Public Schools 

  • Potential multi-dog visit
  • Arranged generally during exam week (High Schools)
  • Elementary schools will have a PAWS venue lead (paws team member arranging visits with the school directly)
